We recently hosted a 5-day, 30-hour professional housekeeping training course for staff from 16 hotels across Phuket. Led by Mr. Wutti Choobal—an expert with decades of hotel experience—the program covered everything from room preparation to sustainable housekeeping practices. Participants also visited Infinity Laundry, Phuket’s largest laundry facility, for real-world insights. This hands-on course, supported by leading tourism and hospitality organizations, is part of our mission to raise service standards and strengthen Phuket’s hospitality sector.

Raising the Bar in Hospitality: Professional Housekeeping Course for Phuket Hotel Staff

From March 17th to 21st, 2025, the vibrant hospitality heart of Phuket came together for a special 30-hour training course designed to upskill hotel housekeeping teams from 16 hotels across the island. Held at Phuket Spa Wellness and Language School, this program was part of the Tourism and Service Industry Workforce Capacity Development Project, aiming to strengthen Phuket’s global hospitality standards through real, hands-on learning.

What We Taught: The Art and Science of Professional Housekeeping

Over the five-day program, participants learned everything it takes to become a professional housekeeper in the hotel industry. The course combined technical skills with the soft skills needed to create exceptional guest experiences.

Key topics included:

  • Room Preparation & Deep Cleaning Standards

  • Laundry & Linen Management

  • Chemical Safety & Equipment Handling

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Time & Task Management

  • Guest Interaction & Communication Skills

  • Sustainability & Eco-Friendly Practices

Participants were not only trained in theory but also engaged in practical simulations, group activities, and real-world discussions about the challenges and responsibilities of modern housekeeping in top-tier hotels.

Field Visit to Infinity Laundry – Phuket’s Largest Hotel Laundry Facility

One of the highlights of the training was a field trip to Infinity Laundry, Phuket’s largest commercial laundry operation. Here, participants got a firsthand look at how large-scale linen services are managed professionally—from pickup and sorting, to washing, drying, pressing, and quality control. It was an eye-opening experience that showed how essential partnerships like these are to maintaining hotel hygiene standards.

Meet the Trainer – Mr. Wutti Choobal

This course was led by Mr. Wutti Choobal, a seasoned hotelier and housekeeping expert with decades of experience in Thailand’s hospitality industry. Mr. Wutti has held key positions such as Executive Housekeeper at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort and Sheraton Grande Laguna, and has trained across several five-star properties in Bangkok and Phuket. He is currently the Business Owner of Talanda Massage and Relax Bangkok and a driving force in the Housekeeping Management Club of Phuket.

His professional journey and passion for excellence inspired every session. Mr. Wutti didn’t just teach—he mentored, shared stories, and instilled pride in the role of housekeepers as the heart of every hotel.
